3.9/5 ⭐️

One thing I loved bout this novel is the vivid narrative of Ms. Owens about the marsh. It was spot on beautiful, makes you grateful and appreciate nature even more & how it brings us peace/comfort in our darkest and loneliest moments. It can be our shield & ally, our refuge or weapon🍃 Now, the reason I gave it a 3 is probably because of the plot or the lack of complexities in the characters. And as someone who loves/reads/wrote about mystery, again, in the middle of the book it's becoming obvious and the end became apparent to me. I knew about the mystery before it unraveled. I also wanted more of Kya's valorous survival skills to be shown in the court room, but it just kinda lacked. I don't wanna say more so I don't giveaway any spoilers. Anyways, give it a go! You might be impressed or not, but no doubt, there are nice parts in the book👍☺️

📌"lot of times love doesn’t work out. Yet even when it fails, it connects you to others and, in the end, that is all you have, the connections."

📌"If anyone would understand loneliness, the moon would."

📌"I wasn't aware that words could hold so much. I didn't know a sentence could be so full."
