In Leadership, Friendship, and Service. ⚜️

Republic Act No. 11053, or the Anti-Hazing Act of 2018, amends RA 8049 to strictly prohibit all forms of hazing in fraternities, sororities, and organizations in schools, communities, and military training. It defines hazing as any act inflicting physical/psychological harm, including paddling, forced activities, or humiliation. Violators face reclusion perpetua (up to 40 years) and massive fines if death or serious injury occurs.

Key Aspects of RA 11053 (Anti-Hazing Act of 2018):
Total Ban: Prohibits all forms of hazing in fraternities, sororities, and organizations (school or community-based).

Definition: Covers any physical or psychological suffering, harm, injury, or degradation inflicted upon a recruit, neophyte, or applicant.

Liability:
Principals: Those who planned, participated in, or acted as officers during the hazing.

School Authorities: Heads of schools or authorized representatives who failed to act, or knew of the hazing and failed to prevent it.

Property Owners: Owners of the place where hazing occurred are liable as accomplices if they had knowledge.

Penalties:
Reclusion Perpetua and fines up to PHP 3 million if the hazing results in death, r**e, so**my, or mutilation.
Imprisonment (6-12 years) and fines for lesser injuries.

Regulation of Initiation: Written application for initiation must be submitted to school authorities seven days prior, detailing the, date, place, and participants, and promising no physical violence.

Role of Schools: Schools must monitor activities, and at least two representatives must be present during initiations.

This law applies to the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and other uniformed services
