Official Statement on Chickenpox and Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease

Parents and Guardians,
We understand your concern regarding the recent cases of chickenpox and hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) in our school. Please be assured that the health and safety of our pupils remain our top priority.
To maintain a safe learning environment, the school has implemented the following measures:

• Daily Disinfection: Classrooms are disinfected every day, and air-conditioning units are regularly cleaned and maintained
• Health Screening: Teachers conduct body checks before the start of the first period. Any child showing visible symptoms will not be allowed inside the classroom, and parents will be immediately notified to pick up their child.
• Controlled Attendance: Students will only be allowed to return to school upon presenting a medical certificate from their pediatrician confirming that they are fit to rejoin and no longer pose a risk of infection.

At this time, the number of students affected is not significant enough to warrant a class suspension. We also believe that shifting to online classes will not be effective and does not align with our advocacy of limiting screen time among children. However, should cases persist or increase, we are prepared to transition to modular learning to ensure continuity of education.

Rest assured that the school is constantly monitoring the situation and will always prioritize the welfare and well-being of our pupils. For your concerns, I will greatly appreciate that you visit or call us in our office.
