But nope — my 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀.

𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱.
𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗱.
And I 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁.😅

This is the 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 as a 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 — we’re managing so much 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀, that we 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀.

Don’t get me wrong — I 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗱𝗼. 𝗜 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

But today’s reminder?

Truth is, 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝟲𝟬% compared to hiring a 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲, 𝗶𝗻-𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲.

No 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 to rent.
No 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 to manage.
No 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 — just 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 where (and when) you need it most.

One of the things I’ve learned supporting 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:

✨ 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 = 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗺 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀.

I know sometimes you don’t want to seem bossy, or maybe you’re just thinking,
“𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻.”

And while I appreciate the 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆… here’s the truth: without a 𝗱𝘂𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲, I have to 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘀 where to slot it in — and that can lead to 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀 or things 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 (which neither of us wants).

Even a 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 like “𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸” or “𝗯𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗳 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲” is a 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿.

You get 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱, I get 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 — and the task actually gets 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. 🤝

𝗧𝗮𝗴 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿 who needs this reminder, or 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁 if 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is part of your 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 this year 💛

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten a message like:

“𝗛𝗲𝘆! 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸?”

And trust me — I want to help. That’s literally what I do as a 𝐕𝐀.

But when the 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘇𝘇𝘆, it 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 (and I end up feeling like a 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 with a 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗲 😅).

So here’s my gentle 𝗣𝗦𝗔: if you want to get better at 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, start by getting 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗸.

It doesn’t have to be fancy — even a 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲 or 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 is a 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿.

🤍 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀= 𝘀𝗺𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀, 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀, and more time for you to focus on 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀.

Sometimes those “𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸” 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀 turn into full-blown𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀.

One𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 here, a 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗢𝗣 there, and suddenly we’re in 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 + 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 + 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 mode 🤹‍♀️

And you know what? I wouldn’t trade it for anything (but maybe just a little more 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲😅).
