Calle Crisologo, also known as Mena Crisologo Street, is one of the most iconic Spanish-era heritage streets in the Philippines. Located in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, this cobblestone avenue is lined with ancestral houses that date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. These bahay na bato once belonged to wealthy merchants and families who prospered through trade between the Philippines, Mexico, and China.

By day, visitors can walk through the street and admire its colonial architecture, wooden balconies, and antique shops. By night, Calle Crisologo transforms into a lantern-lit passage that feels like stepping back into the Spanish colonial era.

More than just a tourist spot, it is a living reminder of the Philippines’ cultural and architectural heritage. In 1999, Vigan was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage City, with Calle Crisologo as its most famous showcase of preservation.

Trivia: The street was named after Mena Pecson Crisologo, a respected Ilocano writer, politician, and statesman, often referred to as the “Ilocano Shakespeare.”
