The 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐋𝐘𝐃𝐎), 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 (𝐋𝐆𝐔) 𝐛𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐭 (𝐑𝐀) 𝟏𝟎𝟕𝟒𝟐, 𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐑𝐀 𝟏𝟏𝟕𝟔𝟖, has significantly shaped youth development in the Philippines. These offices, led by appointed Local Youth Development Officers (LYDOs), are crucial for monitoring and implementing the Local Youth Development Plan to ensure effective youth governance.

To bolster this effort, the League of Youth Development Officers of the Philippines, in partnership with the National Youth Commission (NYC), organized the 2nd National LYDO Convention 2025. This convention, attended by representatives like 𝐌𝐫. 𝐙𝐢𝐢 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 (𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐘𝐃𝐎 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫), aimed to equip LYDOs nationwide with knowledge regarding key issues such as the upcoming Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, the Local Youth Development Council, the Seal of Good Local Governance, and other vital youth programs.

A central theme was the importance of institutionalizing the LYDO position. 𝐍𝐘𝐂 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐉𝐞𝐟𝐟 𝐎𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐚 emphasized that appointing dedicated LYDOs in every LGU is essential for executing effective policies and services for Filipino youth. He also pledged NYC's support, providing the League and its members with necessary resources, training, and tools.

The event featured presentations from various partner agencies, including the 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐂), 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐬 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 (𝐃𝐃𝐁), 𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐃𝐀, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆), all of whom shared information about their youth-focused initiatives.
