Aklanon Odd Fellow

The true strength of an Odd Fellows Lodge is not measured by comparing ourselves with others, but by Unity, Harmony and dedication we build within our own lodge hall.
Our first responsibility is to strengthen our own Lodge, through fellowship, faithful attendance, meaningful labor and genuine care for every Brother.
Let us focus our time and energy on the growth of our Lodge, remembering that each Lodge has its own journey, leadership and responsibilities.
We best serve the Order not by interfering with the affairs of other Lodges or District operations,
but by setting a worthy example through our own conduct, respect and excellence.
When our Lodge grows in Brotherly love and active participation we contribute to the strength of Odd Fellowship as a whole. Let us labor together with humility, respect the jurisdiction of others and remain steadfast in building a Lodge that future generations of the Brethren will be proud to call their own. So be it! 🤝

19th US President Rutherford B. Hayes belonged to Croghan Odd Fellows Lodge No. 77 in Fremont, Ohio. He was initiated into the Independent Order of Odd Fellows at this lodge in 1849 and was known to be a devoted member who lived by the principles of Friendship, Love, and Truth. ✋🏻🤍🔗⚖️👁️
Hayes demonstrated these principles throughout his life in several key ways:
Love and Charity: The IOOF emphasizes aiding those in need and supporting widows and orphans. Hayes actively lived this out by championing universal education, pushing for better prison conditions, and tirelessly aiding Civil War veterans with their pensions after returning to his estate at Spiegel Grove.
Friendship and Harmony: Odd Fellowship aims to harmonize individuals from vastly different walks of life. In an 1887 speech in Fremont, Hayes praised how beneficial societies gather people who "differ widely in occupation, politics, religion, and conditions of life and fuse them easily and naturally into complete harmony and cordial friendship." He applied this to his own political career by seeking compromise to heal the divided nation following the Civil War.
Truth and Integrity: The IOOF motto of Truth serves as a guard against hypocrisy. During his time as the 19th U.S. President (1877–1881), Hayes made it his mission to restore integrity and honesty to the government by fighting corruption, reforming the spoils system, and ensuring that appointments were made purely on merit.

"Gaze upon the sight which is Below. Though we live Above, Below is where we will go.
The ticks of time is not Endless. It Ends where we know it less.
Move Forward and Forget the Past. Make the most out of the day as if it were the last..
For as we embody what we have learned, know its worth and know its cost..
I assure you.. You will never be lost."
