In preparation for the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR SIA) 2026 this August, the Provincial Health Office of Aklan successfully conducted Batch 1 of the Barangay Health Workers (BHW) Lay Forum on July 1, 2026, at the Aklan Training Center.
Barangay Health Workers, together with the Municipal Health Education and Promotion Officers from 12 municipalities across the province, participated in the forum.
The activity equipped participants with the knowledge and communication skills needed to provide accurate information, address community concerns, and encourage parents and caregivers to have their eligible children vaccinated.
Together, let us support the MR SIA 2026 Campaign and ensure that every Aklanon child is protected against measles and rubella.

The Province of Aklan, through the Provincial Health Office, in collaboration with DepEd Aklan and DOH-WV CHD, conducted on-site visits and monitoring activities in selected schools under the Oplan Kalusugan sa DepEdโHealthy Learning Institutions (OKD-HLI) Program.
Using the Self-Appraisal Checklist (SAC), the team assessed how well schools met Healthy Learning Institution standards and provided guidance to help create safer, healthier, and more learner-friendly environments for students.
The monitoring covered:
๐ Cogon Elementary School โ Malinao District
๐ Sugnod Elementary School โ Malinao District
๐ Navitas Elementary School โ Numancia District
This initiative reflects the commitment of the Provincial Government of Aklan and its education and health partners to foster schools that promote the well-being, safety, and holistic development of every learner.
