𝓢𝓓𝓡𝓡𝓜 𝓲𝓷 𝓐𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷

📣𝓛𝓞𝓞𝓚 : The SDRRM team conducted in-room session in the Grade 7- Diamond class to teach students about earthquake preparedness and basic first-aid skills. This session aimed at helping the learners grasp what to do in case of emergencies.

Students participated in simple demonstrations to practice protective actions and learned how to respond safely. The SDRRM team guided them step by step so that their lesson would be easily learned.

This activity made the learners in Grade 7 more aware, prepared, and confident. It also supports the school’s goal of promoting safety and readiness among students.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊📣| Sillawit National High School successfully participated in the 4th Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), led by the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM), today at 9:00 AM held at the school gymnasium.

The said drill was conducted to raise awareness among students and teachers and to prepare them for unexpected disasters such as earthquakes.

The “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure was once again carried out by the students, followed by a short seminar about basic first aid, one-man carry, and choking to ensure that both teachers and students are knowledgeable and prepared.

📢 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) was successfully held at Sillawit National High School on September 11, 2025, 9:00 AM at the school gymnasium, led by the School Disaster Risk Reduction Management (SDRRM).

The activity focused on preparing students to respond properly during earthquakes and other emergencies. Students practiced the Duck, Cover, and Hold procedure and learned basic first aid techniques that can help save lives.

Through regular NSED drills, students gain the knowledge and skills needed to lessen risks, avoid panic, and reduce the impact of earthquakes.

It was a moment of pride for Team Silaw of Sillawit National High School to be part of the “Mayor Jaycee Dy Inter-School First Aid Olympics.” As first-time participants, the journey was challenging—but through our team’s perseverance, hard work, and unity, we trained with dedication and competed with heart.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Ma’am Cristine Joy Calacsan, who guided us every step of the way, and to our supportive teachers and principal.

We gained not only skills, but also valuable lessons we’ll carry with us. This is just the beginning—we’ll come back stronger, wiser, and ready to rise even higher.

𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐑𝐑𝐌𝐎 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐜𝐞𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝 𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬

The Mayor Jaycee Inter School First Aid Olympics recently held its first iteration, highlighting the importance of community service and emergency preparedness last July 30 at Cauayan City National High School -Cabaruan Extension Gymnasium, as a part of the various activities for the month long celebration of the NATIONAL DISASTER RESILIENCE MONTH 2025 with a theme of “Kumikilos para sa Kahandaan, Kaligtasan, at Katatagan.”

As the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, their duty is to conduct trainings and scenario-based drills and simulations exercises in all sectors of the community. In addition, seeking for support system to address all kinds of hazards.

Students from various public schools competed in first aid relay to improve their skills, the different stages are as follows:

Skill 1: Bandaging Techniques - Players were task to choose a bandaging technique in a fishbowl and demonstrated it correctly.

Skill 2: Splinting and Spine Board Management - As a team, participants will perform splinting techniques to the victim with the materials provided. After the application of the splints, the team will load and carry the victims observing proper spine board management.

Skill 3: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - A First Responder is on the scene and will perform the initial steps in BLS until the 2nd rescuer arrives with BVM. Both rescuers will then perform the 1 and 2 adult BLS with BVM only.

Winners on the competition are given trophies, cash prizes.

📣 𝓛𝓞𝓞𝓚 | The 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥 (NSED) was successfully conducted under the leadership of the School Disaster Risk Reduction Management (SDRRM) of Sillawit National High School on June 19, 2025, at 9:00 AM in the school gymnasium.

The drill aimed to strengthen students’ preparedness in responding to unexpected disasters, particularly earthquakes.

Essential skills are needed such as Duck, Cover, and Hold, as well as basic first aid techniques applicable during emergencies, were demonstrated and applied through a lifelike presentation.

Overall, the activity served as an important initiative to raise awareness, readiness, and safety among all students.

Through the regular conduct of such drills, the school ensures that in the event of an unforeseen earthquake, the community is equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to reduce risks, threats, and potential damage.

Sillawit National High School is alive with activity as Brigada Eskwela 2025 begins, carrying the theme “Sama-Sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa.”

School Disaster Risk Reduction Management (SDRRM), together with other Club members and teachers, clean parts of our school campus—ensuring that our little help can make a big difference to our school and the community.

With teamwork and dedication, the school clinic is now ready to serve students in the upcoming school year-safe, clean, and well-prepared to care for every learner.

𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗡 | Matagumpay na idinaos ang 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) na pinangunahan ng School Disaster Risk Reduction Management o SDDRM, Marso 13, 2025. ganap na alas-8:00 ng umaga sa school’s gymnasium.

Layunin ng drill na mapahusay ang kahandaan ng mga mag-aaral sa pagtugon ng hindi inaasahang sakuna partikular ang Lindol.

Muling ibinahagi ang mga kasanayan tulad ng Duck, Cover and Hold pati na din ang pang unang lunas na maaaring ilapat sa oras na kinakailangan sa pamamagitan ng isang simulation.

Sa kabuuan, ito ay nagsilbing mahalagang pamamaraan upang mapaunlad ng kamalayan, paghahanda at kaligtasan sa bawat mag aaral.

Sa pamamagitan ng regular na pagsasagawa ng mga naturang pagsasanay, tinitiyak na kung sakaling magkaroon ng di inaasahang lindol, ang komunidad nito ay may sapat na kaalaman at kasanayan upang mabawasan ang mga panganib, banta at pinsalang dulot nito.
