JUST IN | Planas Integrated School (Junior High School) today officially launched the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) program, aligning with the national initiative of the Department of Education to support learners with proficiency gaps. The launch event was followed by a General Parents‑Teachers Association (GPTA) meeting during which a new “card system” was introduced as part of the school’s effort to strengthen student accountability and performance tracking.

At 8:00 AM in the school gymnasium, Principal Reynaldo Andres formally opened the ARAL Program, welcoming Junior High students, teachers, and parents. The ARAL initiative aims to address learning loss exacerbated by recent disruptions, particularly in reading, mathematics, and related foundational skills.
Drawing from DepEd’s Memorandum No. 64 and the teaching of the ARAL‑Program Act (RA 12028), the school will roll out structured, learner‑centered, and targeted interventions.

According to Teacher Margie Gupuchon of ARAL coordinator the first phase will focus on Grade 7/8 level working through assessments to identify students who fall below expected proficiency in reading and numeracy. Supplemental tutorials, remedial classes, and structured feedback will form part of the approach. Teachers have undergone orientation and training in recent weeks to prepare for this program.
