With almost 100 participants, the activity provided an on-site learning experience at the Isabela B.R.I.C.K.S Facility, where the scouts were able to see and understand firsthand the process of producing various products such as bricks, footpaths, vases, and hollow blocks, as one of the key waste diversion initiatives of the LGU Isabela City.
This marks the 7th recorded on-site visit to the award-winning facility, which was facilitated by the CGSOβCENRO Project Development Team led by CAA Anna Sahibil, together with Bricks Master Abdusamad Hayre. The team fostered a sense of community belongingness and instilled values of environmental stewardship, creativity, and social responsibility among the young leaders.
Earlier in the event, CAA Sahibil delivered a message on behalf of Mayor Sitti Djalia A. Turabin-Hataman, inspiring young learners to embrace leadership and become drivers of meaningful change. She also presented an insightful discussion on proper waste management, encouraging participants to think critically about sustainability and explore creative ways to repurpose plastic waste.
The Isabela B.R.I.C.K.S Program, implemented by the City General Services Office under the leadership of CGS Officer Eugene B. Strong, serves as an innovative waste diversion program that addresses the growing plastic waste challenge by shredding discarded plastics and bottles and transforming them into useful, community-beneficial products.
