219 TESDA scholars from Zamboanga Sibugay Polytechnic Institute received ₱3,600 each as the second tranche of their Training Support Fund from TESDA. Aside from free education and training, these scholars are also entitled to allowances that help ensure they have the support they need to continue their studies.

This program is part of Republic Act No. 10931, or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, which aims to make quality education more accessible to every Filipino.

TESDA’s three-year diploma courses fall under Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) Level 5, an effort to align technical-vocational programs with bachelor’s degree programs. Under this pathway, students who complete three years of tech-voc training and one additional year in college can graduate with a degree—offering more young Filipinos the opportunity to finish higher education and secure jobs that match their skills.

In addition to the training allowance, TESDA scholars also receive book and uniform allowances, as well as toolkits that they can use in their practical training. These benefits are designed to break down barriers to education and equip each scholar with what they need to confidently enter the workforce.
