Honestly, if there’s anything that Typhoon Odette has reminded me, it’s that how maka proud jud tang mga Bisaya. Since Odette has hit:

- No waiting around, deretso’d lihuk tanan from emergency rescuers to normal civilians since as early as an hour after it hit.
- No pointing fingers on who to blame for such and such.
-Wa ta nangita or nagsalig sa Presidente or any government title before we took the initiative to start back moving.
- Malls & other business establishments opening up their doors for evacuees.
- Businesses offering FREE services to civilians
- No overpricing for necessities like food and water even with a shortage.
- I’ve heard no news of looters.
- Daghan kaayo ug tao nag offer ug free load or calling their loved ones for them to ensure safety.
- Using social media for the good of everyone to share news, updates, important infos, and even rescue!
- Some jeepneys, taxis, habal habal went straight to driving so people have the chance to move.
- And intawn, NAMINAW jud ta! Way nag gara-gara and people started preparing and evacuating as soon as they were told.
- And the heartbreaking yet uplifting spirit of “Bahala na’g walay balay, BASTA BUHI”
