As part of the vibrant celebration of the Heritage Exhibit last April 30, 2026 became a living journey through the identity of our people–from the timeless traditions of rice farming, fishing, and salt farming, to the rich flavors of our beloved kankanen and the artistry of local craftsmanship.

The exhibit also honored the colorful legacy of Kankanaey and Ibaloi culture, showcased the beauty of our tourism sites, revisited the history of Infanta, and paid tribute to the prominent personalities who helped shape our community through the years.

More than an exhibit, it was a celebration of roots, resilience, and the stories passed from one generation to another.

The Cultural Mapping Team, led by Adrian Mas, together with members Dhanieca Espinosa, Claryn Monsanto, Patricia Madarang, Rolando Mayo, Maricar Abuyan, Vera Jemima Monje, and Sherwin Millora, under the guidance and facilitation of NCCA facilitators Farland Valera and Gerald Paragas, and with the support of Tourism Operations Officer I/Tourism Officer Designate Baby Ruth Mores, and Infanta's chief executive Hon. Virgilio Vallarta, M.D. warmly extends a heartfelt gratitude to everyone who visited and appreciated this meaningful exhibit.

Your presence helped keep the spirit of our heritage alive. πŸ’š

The sea came alive on May 1, 2026, as Barangay Cato celebrated Pista’y Dayatβ€”a vibrant tribute to life by the waters, where faith, culture, and community flowed as one.

The morning began peacefully with a Holy Mass to give gratitude to all the blessings received by the locals from the sea, followed by a colorful parade of fluvial boats and of beautifully decorated boats and exciting boat races.

As evening fell, the celebration moved to the stage with lively dance performances that had everyone, both locals and visitors, joining in the fun.

From the quiet prayers at sunrise to the high-energy dancing at night, the celebration was a wonderful display of unity, local culture, and tradition.

Binanglay’s mixture is placed on banana leaves, rolled to achieve its cylindrical shape, and tied with strips of silag or buri palm leaf.

More than just a delicacy, Binanglay is a story you can taste, carefully prepared, thoughtfully wrapped, and proudly passed on.
