This July, we celebrate Nutrition Month with the sub-theme, "𝑵𝒖𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒚𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒕 𝑲𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏: 𝑨𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒂𝒏!" 🌿

With this, we encourage everyone to eat nutritious food and maintain a healthy lifestyle. By doing so, we can achieve better health and overall well-being. ❤️‍🩹

The 𝑺𝒊𝒆𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒓 (1898–1899) began as a grueling 𝟯𝟯𝟳-𝗱𝗮𝘆 standoff but evolved into a powerful story of reconciliation. While Spanish soldiers held the 𝙎𝙖𝙣 𝙇𝙪𝙞𝙨 𝙙𝙚 𝙏𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙖 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝘾𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙝 unaware that the war had ended, the Filipino forces eventually recognized their gallantry, choosing empathy over hostility by providing them with food and updates.

Upon their surrender in 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮, 𝟭𝟴𝟵𝟵, 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘌𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘰 𝘈𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘥𝘰 honored the surviving Spaniards as friends rather than prisoners of war. This remarkable gesture of grace laid the foundation for 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆-𝑺𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝑭𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝑫𝒂𝒚, institutionalized by 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟵𝟭𝟴𝟳.

Today, we commemorate this historic turning point, celebrating how humanity and mutual respect can bridge even the deepest divides. By honoring the legacy of Baler, we reaffirm the enduring bond and shared history between the Philippines and Spain. 🇵🇭🇪🇸
