I’ve been reflecting on how some award-giving bodies in our industry work. Fans pour so much energy into voting, and artists give their all to be recognized — but what many don’t see is the other side of these awards, where sponsorships and costs are quietly involved.

It makes me wonder: are the artists themselves even aware of how these systems really work? Or are they just told, “Congratulations, you’re nominated,” while the bigger picture is kept behind the curtains?

As someone in media, I can’t help but think about both the artists and the fans. Recognition should be about artistry, effort, and genuine support — not about who can shoulder a sponsorship package.

This experience taught me one thing: don’t be afraid to say no, even if it hurts. Staying true to yourself will always be worth more than any trophy.
