Zhang Linghe handled this part very cleanly:
no extra dialogue, just a cold look and the blade striking the shoulder bone—steady, precise, and ruthless. Just like earlier when he stabbed the black-clothed man’s palm during the interrogation. He uses pain to force out the truth, and it also establishes Xie Zheng’s character—his ruthlessness and control become instantly clear.

The people around tried to stop him, until Changyu softly called out:
“Yanzheng.”

At that moment, he heard only her voice.

In the first ten episodes, Xie Zheng appears weak and sickly, but his emotions are always restrained.

Until Changyu said this line:
