The ISU-ILAGAN ROTC Unit continued its rigorous training schedule on 28 February 2026, at the Isabela State University-Ilagan campus. Under the steadfast leadership of LTC DARWIN A MANALO (GSC) QMS PA, Commandant, and CPT AL BRYAN L VILLANUEVA (QMS) PA, Assistant Commandant, the unit focused on critical survival, tactical, and life-saving skills essential for modern military service.
The session was supported by the dedicated efforts of SGT OLIVER G MARAMAG (MI) PA, Admin NCO, Sgt Leroy G Ammugauan PA (Res), ROTC Coordinator, along with the Training and Tactical NCOs, GMAs, and ROTC Advance Officers.

A major highlight of the day was the comprehensive lecture and practical exercise on Map Reading and Land Navigation, led by Sgt Geraldine E Mendoza PA(Res). Spatial awareness and the ability to traverse unknown terrain are vital survival skills for any soldier. Sgt Mendoza emphasized that technology can fail in the field, making the traditional map and compass indispensable tools for tactical movement and mission success.

Also, Sgt Marlon Ramos PA (Res) Conducted simultaneously with the navigation drills. Sgt Marlon Ramos PA(Res) led an intensive, hands-on session focusing on First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS). highlighted that in a tactical or emergency environment, immediate and effective medical response is often the difference between life and death. The training was designed to build confidence so cadets can act swiftly when seconds count.
