𝘽𝙀𝙀𝘿 𝙋𝙧𝙚-𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙀𝙣𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝙎𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙧-𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥
The Northern Iloilo State University (NISU), College of Education, successfully conducted a 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎-𝑩𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝑺𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓-𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑 last April 16 l, 2026 at NISU Library Basement. Target participants were BEED third year pre-service teachers taking up Field Study 2 (FS 2) course where primary requirement is the submission of a Classroom-Based Action Research Proposal.
The program was officially opened with the remarks given 𝑫𝒓. 𝑨𝒗𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒆 𝑷. 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒅𝒊𝒂, Program Chairperson of BEED, who welcomed and encouraged the participants to actively engage in research development.
This was followed by the giving of overview of the activity and house rules by 𝑫𝒓. 𝑵𝒐𝒍𝒊 𝑩. 𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒂, FS 2 Course Facilitator, setting the direction and expectations for the seminar-workshop.
With the theme “𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆,” the activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of BEED pre-service teachers in conducting and crafting classroom-based action research. 𝑫𝒓. 𝑮𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒏 𝑪. 𝑯𝒆𝒔𝒐, a Master Teacher I and member of the Technical Working Group in Research in the SDO Iloilo, served as the 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒆 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒓, shared valuable insights on research concepts and guided participants through workshop activities such as problem formulation and methodology.
An open forum (Q&A) was also conducted, allowing participants to raise questions and clarify important points about research writing.
This was followed by the presentation of outputs, where BEED pre-service teachers showcased their work and applied what they had learned during the workshop.
The event concluded with an inspiring note from Dr. Heso saying, “𝑴𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝑶𝑹𝑪𝑬 𝒐𝒇 𝑹𝑬𝑺𝑬𝑨𝑹𝑪𝑯 𝒃𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖,” encouraging future educators to embrace research in their teaching journey.
