Sa pambihirang pagkakataon, itatanghal ang Tales of the Manuvu sa UP Diliman! Ito ay handog sa atin ng UP Opisina ng Presidente, kasama ang Alice Reyes Dance Philippines, bilang paggunita sa Pambansang Buwang ng Sining.

Ang Tales of the Manuvu ay makapangyarihang rock opera ballet ni Pambansang Alagad ng Sining Alice Reyes hango sa libretto ni Pambansang Alagad ng Sining Bienvenido Lumbera.

Isang makulay at masidhing pagsasadula ng paglikha ng unang tao at babae, ang tunggalian ng mabuti at masama, at ang pagkamulat ng sangkatauhan sa sariling lakas at kapalaran.

Halina’t samahan si Christine Joy A. Magpayo, katuwang na propesor mula sa UP Diliman Departamento ng Komunikasyong Pasalita at Sining Panteatro at katuwang na rehistrador ng unibersidad, sa isang sesyon tungkol sa komunikasyon sa trabaho.

Si Kat. Prop. Magpayo ay nagtuturo ng mga kursong may ugnay sa retorika at performance. Siya ay nakapagpalathala na ng kanyang mga akademikong artikulo sa e-journals gaya ng “Philippines Communication Society Review” at “Philippine Humanities Review.” Bukod dito, siya rin ay bumubuo ng mga learning module at nangunguna sa mga pagsasanay para sa epektibong komunikasyon ng mga mag-aaral sa lahat ng antas at ng mga propesyonal mula sa iba’t ibang industriya.

Catch "Songs of the Past: Mga Himig Nina Apo Pidiong" on November 6, 3 PM and 7 PM at the U.P. Theater Stage!

The concert is a restaging of the choral and rondalla arrangements of Philippine folk songs collected from all over the country during President Elpidio Quirino’s post-war cultural initiatives.

Internationally-acclaimed Novo Concertante Manila and University of the Philippines Rondalla will be joined by award-winning pianist Mika Lastrilla, versatile soprano Pauline Therese Arejola, and opera tenor Ervin Lumauag, conducted by Arwin Tan with special guest conductor National Artist Ramon Pagayon Santos.
