The Technological University of the Philippines Reserve Officers Training Corps Unit (TUP ROTCU) successfully conducted the ROTC Innovation Expo 2026 on 17 1300H May 2026, held at the TUP Manila Main Campus.

The program opened with remarks from Prof. Reggie C. Campomanes, NSTP Director of TUP, who underscored the university’s commitment to fostering innovation and leadership among cadets. A research and development video presentation highlighted the creativity of TUP students, followed by the awarding of certificates recognizing their months of preparation, teamwork, and ingenuity. The introduction of MGEN EFREN G MORADOS PA, Vice Commander of the Philippine Army, as Guest of Honor and Speaker, was delivered by MGEN RONALD JESS S ALCUDIA PA, Commander of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army. In his address, MGEN Morados emphasized innovation as a vital pillar in strengthening military readiness and advancing national development. Attendees toured and evaluated prototype displays showcasing inventive projects that reflected discipline, creativity, and technical excellence. The Announcement of Winners and Awarding Ceremony honored outstanding innovations aligned with the Army’s vision of being world-class, multimission-ready, and cross-domain-capable. The event concluded with a boodle fight, symbolizing camaraderie and unity among participants. The Expo also marked the ROTC Graduation Ceremony for Military Sciences 1 and 2, celebrating the cadets’ journey of discipline, service, and leadership a testament to their perseverance and commitment to honor, patriotism, and excellence.

All these were possible with the able guidance of the commandant, LTC OMAR H HASSAN (ART) PA, and the training officers and cadet officers of the TUP ROTC Unit. With their professionalism and dedication, they were able to make it a successful and memorable event.

The cadets are tasked to:
1. Tuck in their t-shirt.
2. Have a clean cut (2Γ—3) and shaved beard for male cadets.
3. Hairnet for female cadets.
4. No wearing of any accessories.
5. No nail polish.
6. Bring your school ID Card or Certificate of Registration.
7. Bring your own bottled water.
8. Bring a tickler, ballpen and white handkerchief.

NOTE:
CADETS ARE EXPECTED AT THE TUP PARADE GROUNDS ON 0630H IN PREPARATION FOR THE SAID ACTIVITY.
BE PUNCTUAL AND OBSERVE PROPER BEARING.

The Technological University of the Philippines Reserve Officers Training Corps Unit (TUP ROTCU) conducted its 13th Training Day on 03 0700H May 2026 at TUP Parade Ground, Ayala Boulevard, Ermita, Manila.

The day commenced with a formal flag-raising ceremony, followed by an invocation, the singing of the National Anthem, and the recitation of the Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas, fostering a sense of patriotism and unity among the cadets. An opening message was delivered by NSTP Director, Prof. Reggie C. Campomanes, who emphasized the significance of the upcoming NSTP Day on 17 May 2026 and reminded the cadets of the importance of grade consultations before the submission of grades. The program continued with a morning exercise to promote physical readiness and discipline, followed by the singing of the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn and the TUP Hymn, reinforcing both national pride and institutional identity.

Subsequently, the cadets engaged in a series of practical activities designed to develop their skills and teamwork. These included drill exercises to enhance coordination and discipline, map reading to strengthen navigation skills, knot tying for essential field techniques, and gun assembling to familiarize them with proper handling procedures. The session concluded with a comprehensive examination to assess the cadets’ knowledge and understanding of the lessons covered.

All these were possible with the able guidance of the commandant, LTC OMAR H HASSAN (ART) PA, and the training officers and cadet officers of the TUP ROTC Unit. With their professionalism and dedication, they were able to make it a successful and memorable event.

The Technological University of the Philippines Reserve Officers Training Corps Unit (TUP ROTCU) conducted its 12th Training Day on 26 0700H April 2026 at TUP Parade Ground, Ayala Boulevard, Ermita, Manila.

The training day began with a formal flag-raising ceremony, which set a disciplined and respectful tone for the entire program. It started with an invocation, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas. These opening activities reminded everyone of the importance of patriotism, unity, and responsibility as students and citizens. Afterwards, the opening message was delivered by NSTP Director Prof. Reggie C. Campomanes. He emphasized the value of discipline in formation and military discipline, highlighting how these qualities help develop responsibility, respect, and leadership among students. He explained that discipline is not only important in military training but also in everyday life, as it shapes character and strengthens one’s sense of duty.

Following, lecture was about Map Reading, presented by Sgt Jeffrey L Delos Angeles. He discussed the importance of understanding maps, especially in navigation and field activities. He explained basic concepts such as directions, symbols, scales, and how to properly interpret map details. The lecture helped students appreciate the practical use of map reading in both emergency situations and outdoor activities.

The second lecture focused on Drills and Ceremonies, led by Sgt Jicky G Estuye. He discussed the proper ex*****on of commands and introduced important drill terms commonly used during formations and exercises. One of the main topics was the position of attention, where students were taught the correct posture and were given the chance to put it into practice. This practical training allowed everyone to apply what they learned and understand the importance of precision, coordination, and discipline.
