The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority โ Davao Fish Port Complex (PFDA-DFPC) warmly welcomes the delegates from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) and the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) during their official visit held at the Davao Fish Port Complex in Toril, Davao City. The visit serves as an avenue to strengthen collaboration and foster stronger ties in the fisheries and maritime sectors between the Philippines and Taiwan. Present during the engagement are Philippine Fisheries Development Authority - General Manager, Atty. Glen A. Pangapalan; Manager, Operations and Services Division- Mr. Mc Christian Macaranas; PFDA- Davao Fish Port Complex Officer-in-Charge- Ms. Marife Borja, together with other key personnel and staff of Davao Fish Port Complex, who extend their warm hospitality and full support to the visiting delegation.
The PFDA is so honored to received the delegation led by Hon. Chao-Chin Huang, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mao-Chan Wang, Director General of the Taiwanese Fisheries Agency, and CDR Andrew C.H. Yen, Deputy Director of the Coast Guard TECO Philippines, BFAR National Assistant Director - Isidro Velayo Jr., BFAR Region XI, Regional Director - Relly B. Garcia, and other personnel present during the activity. During the meeting, discussions focus on matters related to fisheries development, port operations, maritime cooperation, and possible areas for future partnership and collaboration. The activity highlights the importance of international cooperation in promoting sustainable fisheries practices, improving port management systems, and enhancing opportunities for both countries in the fisheries industry.
Following the meeting, the delegates are given a comprehensive tour around the Davao Fish Port Complex, where they are introduced to the different facilities and operational areas inside the port. The visitors are able to observe firsthand the portโs functions, cold storage facilities, trading areas, and other essential services that contribute to the efficiency of the fishery sector in Mindanao.
The visit concludes with a fellowship lunch, allowing both parties to further strengthen camaraderie and exchange ideas in a more relaxed setting. The successful visit reflects Philippine Fisheries Development Authority- Davao Fish Port Complex's continuing commitment to building meaningful partnerships and showcasing the vital role of the Davao Fish Port Complex in the countryโs fisheries industry.
