*COTABATO CITY — May 20, 2026* — The Ministry of Health of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) emphasized the importance of strengthening AIDS awareness and prevention programs during the “Meet the Press” held on May 20, 2026, at the Ministry Hall, MOH-BGC, Cotabato City.

During the press conference, Minister of Health Dr. Jojo Sinolinding answered questions from members of the media regarding the current health priorities of the region. In his response, the minister gave strong emphasis to AIDS awareness, stressing the need for continued education, prevention, and community participation to address the growing concerns related to HIV and AIDS in the Bangsamoro region.

Minister Sinolinding said that raising public awareness is essential in preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS, especially among the youth and vulnerable sectors. He encouraged communities, local government units, schools, and health workers to work together in promoting accurate information, early testing, and access to healthcare services.

He also highlighted the ministry’s ongoing campaigns aimed at reducing stigma and discrimination against individuals living with HIV/AIDS. According to the minister, compassion, understanding, and proper health education are important in building a healthier and more informed Bangsamoro community.

The Ministry of Health reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening public health programs and ensuring that all residents in the region have access to proper healthcare services and awareness initiatives.

The “Meet the Press” served as a platform for the ministry to update the public on key health programs and discuss pressing health issues affecting BARMM.
