"See what people have said about our product," is one way of using social proof
to influence customers.

🤔When we are uncertain about what to do, we assume that the people around us (experts, celebrities, friends, etc.) have more knowledge about what’s going on and what should be done.

1 People look for real testimonies before deciding to purchase a certain product or service.

2 People gather buying recommendations from mixed sources.

đź’ŽWisdom of your family and friends
Close family and friends are the biggest drivers during the awareness and decision phases. We are influenced by what they share on social media, and we are more likely to buy what we see.

đź’ŽExpert
An industry expert recommends a product or service. Like a Twitter shout-out by an expert or having an expert on your Twitter chat.

đź’ŽCelebrity
A celebrity or influencer endorses your product or service through an Instagram post.

đź’ŽUser
Current users recommend your product or service on social media or review sites based on their experiences with your brand.

đź’ŽWisdom of the crowd
Having thousands of customers endorsing your brand or millions of followers on your social media profiles.

đź’ŽCertification
This type of social proof occurs when you are given the stamp of approval by an authoritative figure in your industry. Like the blue checkmark on Twitter or Facebook.

That's why consumers use an item's availability to decide on the quality of the product.

With the right product or service and customer, scarcity can work really well.

But it should not be your only method of persuasion.

âť—You also need to take care of clarity, distraction, and anxiety.

Your product or service value should be clearly laid out in your "unique selling proposition" or USP.

Using your tickets While it’s tempting to view our days as an amusement park with unlimited rides, that’s not really true. It might not maximize our impact or enjoyment either. In fact, we each have a lim…
