Two weeks has passed and the neighborhood is starting to feel like a ghost town. Everyone who had the means to find somewhere comfortable had just left. We just go home to sleep. But as strong winds blow these past 2 days I can't help be reminded of the night Odette hit. We got a solid concrete house, but you can still hear the strong winds moaning outside, doors and windows shaking. 3 hours of frantically, mopping and keeping rain water from flooding our house. It may sound privileged but living in a subdivison makes you think that there would be advantages. Here we are day 15, still kept in the dark literally and figuratively in a house with all your belongings and dreams built upon. Hopefully, my bud would just remember the nights of shadow puppets, tickle monsters, train stops and dino diggers.

Somehow I wouldn't like for 2021 to end, I would miss doing creative work and make people happy with something as simple as a cake. But the world still goes on and so we have to. Maybe this redirection is a chance to rewrite things for 2022. Here I am a day a way from turning 35, still figuring it out.
