🎓 87th Commencement Exercises Advisory

Pagpupugay sa mga Iskolar ng Bayan: Nagtapos, Naglingkod, at Patuloy na Lalaban! ✊🏼🌻

As we step into another milestone as Iskolars, UP Cebu continues to honor its commitment to gender inclusivity by retaining its graduation guidelines for this year's commencement exercises.

This carries on a tradition the university has upheld throughout the years, recognizing that graduation should be a space where every Iskolar is seen and celebrated for who they truly are.

With this, graduating Iskolars are advised to take note of the following:

LIVED NAMES & GRADUATION ATTIRE

✔️ Lived Names
Graduates may use their lived names during the reading of names at the ceremony.

Submit your intent and consent via the Lived Name Form sent to your email.

Note: Legal names still appear on official records.

✔️ Graduation Attire
Graduates may dress in accordance with their lived identities, so long as the academic costume guidelines are followed.

📅 SCHEDULE
📍 Monday, July 13, 2026
• 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Rehearsals
• 1:00 PM – Technical Rehearsals

📍 Tuesday, July 14, 2026
• 8:00 AM: Baccalaureate Mass @ Performing Arts Hall; Ecumenical Service @ AVR 1
• 1:30 PM – Assembly for Processional (back of Admin Building)
• 2:00 PM – Start of Processional
• 2:15 PM – 87th Commencement Exercises @ Campus Grounds

📌 REMINDERS FOR REHEARSALS & CEREMONY

✔️ Students must come on time and finish the rehearsal.
✔️ Bring your sablay to practice the shifting from right to left shoulder.
✔️Bring umbrellas, fans, and water to stay cool during rehearsals.
✔️Inform the OUR in advance (in writing email or printed) if you cannot attend rehearsals and graduation for valid reasons.
✔️Two guests, per graduating student, will be provided with a ribbon to be pinned on their chest to identify them. The ribboned guests are allotted seats during the commencement exercises.
✔️The ceremony is expected to run for 4 hours, so students are advised to eat a sufficient meal in preparation.
✔️Once the processional starts, no candidate should break the line to attend to other matters.
✔️To maintain solemnity and avoid overcrowding, family or friends who wish to take pictures of the graduating student should stay in the designated area.
✔️Graduates should avoid standing from their seats and/or leaving during the ceremony.
✔️While the ceremony is ongoing, students are strictly prohibited from going to the oblation square.
