In celebration of National Arts Month 2026, the Local Government Unit of Palo, Leyte successfully conducted the seminar “Culture and Arts: Then and Now.”

Anchored on this year’s local theme, “Pag-uswag han tawo ngan kalibungan: Harnessing Creativity for Climate Justice.” It aimed to enhance, nurture, and promote the talents of Palon-ons through active engagement in music, visual arts, literature, and dance.

Mr. Victor Hao Cuenco was honored to be one of the speakers, sharing his knowledge and experience in dance alongside fellow speakers from various disciplines: Dr. Maria Alexandra Chua, Ms. Jenelyn Gacia, and Dr. Dennis Montera. The exchange of insights across different art forms made the seminar both enriching and inspiring.

Our sincere thanks to the LGU Palo, led by Municipal Mayor Remedios L. Petilla, as well as the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the Conrado & Ladislawa Alcantara Foundation for the invitation and for their continued support in championing arts and culture.

Three days after Sinulog, we finally had the chance to get some proper rest. Now, it’s time to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this celebration possible and truly successful.

This event would not have been a success without the collective effort, dedication, and seamless coordination of all those involved. Every role, big or small, played an essential part in bringing this celebration to life.
