I have a confession...🤫
I always try to avoid these people at the mall.
No hard feelings, but I'm just plain scared of them 😅.
I remember going to SM one time...
As I walked through the doors and subtly listened to their "𝑊𝑒'𝑣𝑒 𝑔𝑜𝑡 𝑖𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢" jingle for the 1000th time...
I tried reaching my pocket to get my grocery list.
All of a sudden, right in my face, a salesman appeared with a brochure in his hands.
And wouldn't you know it, he's from COCO LIFE.
"𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗜𝗥, 𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗞𝗔 𝗡𝗔 𝗕𝗔?"
Terror-stricken, I froze like a rabbit caught in the headlights, trying to figure out what the crap is going on.
Now luckily my stupid brain came to my rescue and squeaked out this awkward line...
"Ay wait sir, mag-CR muna ko".
Just like that, I was saved by the bell.
Genius right?
If you're like me, then you'll probably vibe with what I'm about to say next.
"𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐨 -- 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐲."
It makes perfect sense...
We all WANT something...
NEED something...
And DESIRE to have more...
But the moment someone pushes you to BUY, BUY, BUY, a huge RED FLAG goes up.
Enter buyer resistance.
"Am I being TRICKED into buying???"
"Well, no chance Jose, ain't gonna happen."
So here's lesson #1 for persuading prospects into buyers...
Before you can get someone to care about your product a.k.a solution...
They first need to care about the PROBLEM.
Make sense?
When you go shopping, you don't go hunting for solutions.
We first sit down and wonder what problems we need to solve.
Once we're presented with problems, we then go hunting for solutions...
See, if that salesman had sold me wet wipes that very instant.
I bet my ass, I would've bought it.
Why's that?
Because I had to solve a problem.
In fact, here's a simple formula on how to sell without selling...
IDENTIFY the PROBLEM + PRESENT your PRODUCT as the SOLUTION + add a hint of PERSUASION → SALE
Now there's a right way to do this
But let's save that for another day...
