Title: “Lino and the Magical Pocket Watch”

Once upon a time…

In a quiet town in the province, there lived a teenage boy named Lino. He was known as the laziest person in the neighborhood. He didn’t help out at home, spent most of his time lying down, and depended entirely on his mother for everything.

“Lino, help me sweep the floor!” his mother would call.

“Later, Ma. I’m tired,” Lino would reply while lounging and playing on his phone.

One day, on his way home from the store (which he only went to after being forced), Lino saw an old man struggling to cross the street. At first, he didn’t want to help. But then he thought—what if the man gave him money in return?

He helped the old man. When they got across, the man smiled at him.

“Thank you, young man. Here, a small token of appreciation.”
The old man handed him an old but shiny pocket watch.

“Wow! This looks antique! Thanks, sir,” Lino said, though he was a bit suspicious.

When he got home, Lino curiously examined the watch. To his surprise, when he pressed a small button—time around him stopped!

“Whoa! This is awesome!” he exclaimed.

From that day on, Lino used the magical watch to pause time and rest without getting caught. Every time his mom asked for help, he would press the button and take a nap for an hour… or two… sometimes even half a day.

But slowly, he began to notice something strange. People around him were starting to become lazy too. Even his mother, who was always busy, now seemed too tired to do anything. The whole town began to feel like it was under a sleepy spell.

Lino got worried. He went back to find the old man—and realized he was no ordinary man, but a mystical being.

“I told you, it was just a simple reward,” the old man said. “But did you use it wisely?”

Lino looked down in shame. “No… I used it to avoid everything. I didn’t learn anything.”

The old man smiled gently and took the watch back.
“Everything has its limits. But hard work? That has no boundaries. Give this back, and get your energy back too.”

Suddenly, Lino woke up in his bed—like it had all been a dream. But from that moment on, he changed. He was the first to wake up every morning, helped out at home, and took his studies seriously.

And whenever he saw the old pocket watch on his table—now just an ordinary item—he remembered the lesson:

“When you’re lazy, your world stops moving. But when you work hard, the world moves with you.”
