As the 2026 National Youth Literary Festival (NYLF) concluded with its awarding ceremony, the Mabaysay delegates from the College of Education of Samar State University celebrated a remarkable milestone as their talent, creativity, and passion for literature were recognized through the contests held during the 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘯 Workshop, as part of the festival's breakout sessions.

𝐍𝐢ñ𝐨 𝐂. 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐬, the Educators' Guild Executive Committee for BSEd English, was awarded 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲, showcasing exceptional creativity and excellence in storytelling.

Meanwhile, 𝐆𝐢𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐝𝐰𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐨, an associative member of the Educators' Guild, secured 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲, demonstrating both imagination and a deep understanding of writing for young audiences.

These achievements reflect not only their literary talent and dedication but also the essence of being 𝘔𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘺𝘴𝘢𝘺—embodying elegance in thought, grace in expression, and beauty in the way stories are woven to touch the lives of others. Through their words, they have shown that true excellence is carried with humility and that the finest narratives are those written with both skill and heart.

As the curtains close on the 2026 NYLF, may these inspire fellow young leaders and aspiring writers to continue honing their craft, embracing creativity, and using literature as a means to educate, empower, and connect communities.
