At the end of each dive 'on house reef, I'd pass this rain jacket smothering the coral. I'd gently tweak it to see if I could remove it easily, but it was tightly wrapped and bound.
Today I put on my mask n fins and swam out with my knife and as gently as I could - cut it off.
Sadly the stag-horn coral that was suffocated by this man-made, non-biodegradan trash looks pretty dead - only time will tell if it recovers.
