MENRO Catarman Camiguin

The LGU of Catarman actively participated in the implementation of Proclamation No. 470, which designates the third Saturday of September each year as International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day. This initiative aligns with Strategy No. 6 of the National Plan of Action for the Prevention, Reduction, and Management of Marine Litter (NPOA-ML).

Fourteen barangays participated in this effort: Alga, Bonbon (with Ficco), Bura, Catibac, Compol, Lawigan, Looc, Liloan, Mainit, Manduao, Panghiawan, Poblacion, Sto. Niño, and Tangaro. The cleanup also involved key national agencies such as the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire and Rescue (BFR), Philippine Coast Guard, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

This collective effort reflects the commitment to reducing marine pollution and promoting environmental sustainability within the community.
