โThe safety of the people should be the highest law.โ This message anchored the Seminar on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace conducted by President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) Castillejos Campus for BSBA and BSCS On-the-Job Training (OJT) students on December 17, 2025.
The seminar focused on orienting students about acceptable workplace behavior, institutional policies, and legal protections, particularly the Safe Spaces Act (Republic Act No. 11313). Students were also informed of the proper procedures and channels for reporting incidents of s*xual harassment during their internship.
Serving as resource speaker, Sir Dominic L. Callo underscored the importance of fostering respectful, inclusive, and harassment-free work environments. He emphasized that both students and employees have the right to work and learn without fear of abuse, discrimination, or intimidation.
The activity also highlighted the importance of preparedness prior to deployment, as students transition from academic settings to real-world professional environments. Through discussions and real-life scenarios, participants were guided on identifying acts of s*xual harassment, understanding consent and personal boundaries, and responding appropriately when violations occur.
The seminar officially opened with remarks by Maโam Beulah Doreen T. Cruz, GAD Coordinator, followed by a message from Dr. Allan A. Roque, CBAPA Chairperson. Maโam Marie Celia R. Aglibot, OJT Instructor delivered the closing remarks, reiterating the universityโs commitment to student welfare and workplace safety.

The Gender and Development (GAD) Office of President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) Castillejos Campus conducted a seminar titled โSexual Harassment in the Workplaceโ on June 19, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN at the Hybrid Laboratory. The event was led by Ms. Beulah Doreen T. Cruz, Campus GAD Coordinator.
The seminar aimed to inform third-year students from the College of Teacher Education (CTE) about Republic Act No. 11313, also known as the Safe Spaces Act or Anti-Bastos Law. With many of the participants preparing for their Field Study courses, the activity served as a timely discussion on fostering safe and respectful environments both on and off campus.
The resource speaker, Sir Dominic L. Callo, delivered a comprehensive discussion on identifying acts that fall under workplace s*xual harassment, stressing the importance of consent, mutual respect, and maintaining professional boundaries.
"Itโs very alarming kasi hindi namin alam na yung iba pala under ng Anti-Bastos Law e unconsciously nating nagagawa, and thankful kasi ngayon alam na natin yung mga โyon and ma-aavoid na natin," shared Marjorie Jasmien Torres, one of the participants.
The program commenced with an opening Remarks from Dr. Ivy H. Casupanan, Campus Director, followed by Opening message from Dr. Raymond D. Espiritu, BEED Chairperson. The event concluded with Closing Remarks from Dr. Geraldine A. Pagunsan, BSED Chairperson.
