LOOK: The GPACT Project MOU Signing Activity was successfully held last Friday, January 30, 2026, at Red Iron Hotel.
The event was graced by key partners and leaders whose presence highlighted the importance of this milestone: VSO Project Implementation Lead Roger Benjamin Williams, GPACT Project Manager Ma. Lisa D. Moalong, PhilDHRRA National Coordinator Ms. Katlea Zairra B. Itong, and Emeritus Head of PhilDHRRA Visayas Mr. Edgar Comeros. Also present were the WESADEF BOT Chairperson Socorro Bohol, BOT Vice Chairperson Rosario Gonzaga, and Executive Director Rowena D. Juanillo — leaders whose guidance and commitment continue to strengthen the foundation and direction of the GPACT Project.
This meaningful activity was further strengthened by the strong support of our local government and partners, led by City Mayor of Calbayog Hon. Raymund C. Uy, Municipal Mayor Representative of Matuguinao Ms. Irish Mae Balingit, and representatives from PNP Calbayog, DILG Calbayog, the Media Representative — Miriam Timan, and CSO Women Representative — Lea Doinog. Their support is vital in helping us reach our goals and ensuring the successful implementation of the GPACT Project.
During the MOU Signing, all stakeholders expressed their solidarity and commitment to support the project until its completion. The GPACT Project is linked to the National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security (NAP-WPS), supporting its goals by empowering CSOs and women in Matuguinao and Calbayog City to actively participate in peacebuilding and community development. The MOU Signing was successfully concluded with heartfelt commitments from all partners — marking another strong step forward for the GPACT Project.

The health update showed that most chickens were in good condition, with stable growth and active feeding patterns. However, a few cases of minor concerns were noted, including occasional respiratory symptoms and uneven weight gain among certain groups. Immediate corrective measures were discussed, such as adjusting feed quality, improving ventilation in the housing area, and reinforcing biosecurity practices to prevent the spread of disease.
The monitoring concluded with recommendations for continuous observation, regular health checks, and prompt reporting of any unusual conditions. These steps will help sustain the productivity of the poultry project and safeguard the investment made by the community.
