PASTORAL REMINDER

Ash Wednesday is a day of FASTING & ABSTINENCE from meat.

FASTING (basically eating only one full meal for the day) applies to ages 18 to 59.
ABSTINENCE (from meat) applies to ages 14 and above.

ALL FRIDAYS OF LENT are also considered days of ABSTINENCE.

Moreover, the Church also encourages the practice of charity and more time for prayer during the whole Season of Lent.
