𝘌𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘚𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘢 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦

The Environmental Science Society (ESS) officially launched "𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵," a tree nursery initiative aimed at bridging the gap between environmental theory and tangible action.

Spearheaded by ESS Vice President-Internal John Benedict Banaag, the project is the culmination of months of deliberate planning and strategic preparation. The launch event, held in Building 41, Room 403, featured a collaborative exchange between the ESS and representatives from the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗥𝗢), including Mr. Joseph W. Joyce and Ms. Lyka Anne S. Mariveles.

The program commenced with an opening address from 𝗠𝗮’𝗮𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗝𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗮ñ𝗮, Department Chair of the Department of Environmental Science and Technology (DEST). She underscored the long-term benefits of the enterprise, framing the nursery as a vital response to contemporary environmental challenges.

Building on this vision, forestry expert and Claveria graduate 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵 𝗪. 𝗝𝗼𝘆𝗰𝗲 provided the initiative's technical foundation by detailing various nursery typologies, essential protocols for soil and crop maintenance, and the core infrastructure requirements for sustainable growth.

Following the presentation, the event transitioned into a dynamic Q&A session, where ESS officers and CLENRO representatives engaged in high-level discussions regarding the initiative’s roadmap. Conversations focused on established site plans and the immediate logistical actions required to break ground.

The launch concluded with a formal commitment to environmental stewardship and a budding partnership between the ESS and CLENRO. With the official building phase on the horizon, the initiative is now pivoting toward securing the necessary support to ensure this project flourishes from a conceptual framework into a physical reality.
