NATIONAL EVANGELIZATION AND CATECHETICAL MONTH 2026
September 1–30, 2026

“LISTEN: Synodal Journey for One Mission”

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro joins the whole Church in celebrating the National Catechetical and Evangelization Month 2026 this September 1–30, with the theme, “LISTEN: Synodal Journey for One Mission.”

This year’s theme invites us to rediscover the gift and importance of listening in our journey as a synodal Church. To listen is to open our hearts to God, to one another, and especially to the joys, struggles, and experiences of the people we are called to serve.

Through genuine listening, we learn to encounter, accompany, discern, and journey together. As we walk with one another, we are reminded that we share one mission: to proclaim the Gospel, bring people closer to Christ, and become a Church that walks with her people.

During this special month, we give thanks for the vocation and mission of our catechists who generously give their time, gifts, and lives in the service of catechesis and evangelization. Through their faithful presence in our parishes, schools, families, BECs, and communities, they continue to nurture the faith and bring the love of Christ closer to God’s people.

May this celebration renew every catechist to be a listening heart, a faithful companion, and a joyful missionary, ready to walk with others and share the Good News through both words and life.

To all our catechists, thank you for saying YES to the mission! May we continue to listen, walk together, and serve with joy the one mission entrusted to us by Christ.

Happy National Evangelization & Catechetical Month 2026!
