Happy Mother’s Day 🩷

Everything begins with a mother’s hands—the hands that hold us, guide us, and help us grow. Just as we call the earth our Mother, the life and nourishment she gives through her soil, seas, and abundance remind us of the love and care of our own mothers.

At the end of the day, we owe so much to our mothers—their love, strength, and quiet sacrifices. Today, we honor them, but every day, we feel their presence.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – To strengthen efforts in ensuring gender sensitivity and equality, the Department of Agriculture – Gender and Development (GAD) program oriented the Philippine Rural Development Project 10 (DA-PRDP 10) team on its guidelines on April 27–28, 2026, in this city.

As part of its mainstreaming initiatives, the activity gathered project staff and key personnel to enhance their understanding of GAD principles and their application in project planning, implementation, and monitoring.

Discussions highlighted the importance of providing equal access to resources, opportunities, and benefits for women, men, person with disability and senior citizen community in the implementation of the PRDP activities and subprojects.

Gay Nanette R. Aleria, DA-PRDP GAD focal person, emphasized the importance of inclusivity and awareness, particularly in DA-PRDP activities. “This initiative will provide a long-term impact on our rural communities and beneficiaries,” she said.

Through this initiative, DA-PRDP reaffirms its commitment to inclusive and sustainable development by promoting gender equality and empowering women in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.

DA-10 GAD Focal person Rhoda Barnido facilitated the orientation and rating the office's implementation using the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) instrument.
