What sounds like a scene straight out of a horror movie is, for one Filipino priest, very real.

In Dumaguete City, Father Ronnie Ablong, a Catholic priest and associate exorcist, shared his terrifying experience performing an exorcism on a woman who was later found to be possessed by 39 demons.

Before the exorcism began, Father Ablong and his team carefully investigated the woman’s background. During their interviews, she admitted to casting a spell on someone and revealed a family history of witchcraft.

According to Father Ablong, possession often doesn’t happen suddenly—it’s the result of repeatedly opening doors to evil through practices like occultism and habitual sin.

What shocked him even more?

Some of the demons revealed their names—and several matched popular horror movie characters.

Among the names identified were:

Valak (The Nun / The Conjuring)
Annabelle (The Conjuring)
Sylvia Ganush (Drag Me to Hell)
Dina Walter (Lights Out)
Esme/Cillen (Twilight)

When asked, the woman admitted she frequently watched horror films.

Father Ablong later shared this publicly as a warning, reminding people that many horror movies are inspired by real demonology—not just fiction.
