𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 📡

The Radio Management Training was conducted on January 24, 2026, at the CICM Covered Court to enhance trainees’ understanding of proper radio communication during emergency situations. The session began with a morning exercise, followed by a comprehensive lecture facilitated by Sir Roumel Estimada and Sir Fernando Castriciones, who discussed correct radio etiquette, call signs, message structure, and discipline in radio usage.

Emphasis was placed on the importance of accurate and timely communication to ensure coordinated and effective emergency response. Practical examples and situational discussions allowed trainees to visualize real-life applications of radio protocols and understand their critical role in avoiding confusion during emergencies.

Participants found the training informative and essential, reporting improved confidence and discipline in radio communication. The objectives of the activity were achieved as trainees demonstrated greater preparedness and appreciation for effective communication in emergency response operations.

𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐎𝐧𝐞

On October 22, 2025, Saint Mary’s University Senior High School launched Synergism 2025, a dynamic celebration filled with movement, spirit, and school pride. The day kicked off with a dance prayer and Zumba session, followed by a presentation for SHS Campus Personality. Athletic events ran from morning until afternoon, keeping the energy high and the campus buzzing.

Amid the excitement, the Marian Emergency Response Team (MERT) and the Senior High Emergency Response Team (SHERT) worked diligently behind the scenes to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone present. Their presence provided reassurance and care, allowing the program to run smoothly and securely.

This collaborative effort not only upheld their commitment to serve and protect the school community, but also strengthened the bond within the organization — reinforcing the values of safety, readiness, and responsibility.

𝐒𝐌𝐔-𝐒𝐇𝐒 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥

Saint Mary’s University Senior High School (SMU-SHS) joined the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on September 11, 2025, highlighting evacuation route familiarization and the proper “Drop, Cover, and Hold” procedure.

At 8:00 AM, students and staff promptly followed safety protocols and evacuated to their designated areas. The drill was supervised by Mrs. Michelle B. Pagaduan, Coordinator for DRRM, Safety, Sanitation, and Pollution Control.

Mr. Melencio G. Bernardino Jr., SMU-SHS Principal, commended the participants for completing the evacuation in under five minutes, while Mr. Christian Nel R. Dominguez, POD for Men, emphasized the importance of discipline and preparedness during emergencies.

On October 21, 2025, Saint Mary’s University Senior High School celebrated a day of faith and cultural appreciation through two significant events — the Living Rosary and the United Nations Celebration.

The day began with the Living Rosary at the SMU Tonus Gym, where students, dressed in ethnic attire, united in prayer to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, reflecting devotion, peace, and solidarity. This was followed by a lively Cultural Fashion Presentation that highlighted global diversity through traditional costumes, performances, and advocacies promoting cultural awareness.

Throughout these activities, the Senior High Emergency Response Team (SHERT) maintained safety and order, embodying service, discipline, and the Marian values of unity and compassion. Together, these events showcased faith in action and unity in diversity — a true reflection of SMU’s mission to nurture spirituality and respect for all cultures.

On October 9, 2025, Saint Mary’s University held a three-part program celebrating the ethnic mass, monthly flag ceremony, and Teacher’s Day.

While the spotlight was on honoring culture, community, and educators, members of the Senior High Emergency Response Team (SHERT) worked quietly in the background to ensure that safety remained a top priority throughout the event.
From crowd monitoring to first aid readiness, SHERT trainees stayed alert and prepared to respond to any situation — serving the school community while reinforcing their commitment to preparedness, responsibility, and the promotion of safety.
