Delegating Leadership
Date: January 23, 2025
Bible Reading: Exodus 16-18
Inspiration:
“Moses’ father-in-law replied, ‘What you are doing is not good. You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone.’” (Exodus 18:17-18)
Learn:
In Exodus 18, Moses faced the overwhelming responsibility of resolving disputes for the Israelites. Jethro, his father-in-law, offered wise advice: delegate the work to trustworthy individuals to lighten the burden and ensure the task was done effectively.
Young adults often try to do it all—juggling work, school, relationships, ministry, and personal goals. Delegation isn’t about giving up responsibility; it’s about sharing the load, prioritizing what matters most, and building a strong community around you.
Lessons about delegation and teamwork for young adults:
1. You Can’t Do Everything Alone
Moses learned that even with God’s guidance, he needed help from others. Recognize your limits and don’t be afraid to lean on others for support. Trying to do it all leads to burnout, not success.
2. Trust and Empower Others
Jethro encouraged Moses to choose capable and trustworthy individuals to share the work. In your life, look for people you can trust to help carry the load—whether at work, in ministry, or in personal projects. Empower them by sharing responsibilities and allowing them to grow.
3. Focus on Your Unique Role
Jethro reminded Moses to focus on teaching and leading, leaving the smaller tasks to others. Identify your priorities and gifts, and spend your energy where you can make the greatest impact. Let others step into roles that align with their strengths.
4. Delegation Builds Community
Sharing responsibilities isn’t just practical; it fosters connection and teamwork. Delegation creates opportunities for others to contribute, grow, and feel valued, strengthening the entire community.
Ask:
Lord, thank You for surrounding me with people who can help carry the load. Teach me to trust and empower others, letting go of the need to control everything. Show me how to focus on what You’ve uniquely called me to do and build a community that honors You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Walk:
Today, I will identify one area where I’m overwhelmed and look for a way to delegate or share the responsibility. Whether it’s asking for help, collaborating with others, or letting go of control, I’ll take a step toward building a healthier rhythm in my life. I’ll also encourage someone else to embrace teamwork and lean into their unique role.

Facing Red Sea
Date: January 22, 2025
Bible Reading: Exodus 14-15
Inspiration:
“Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.’” (Exodus 14:13-14)
Learn:
Young adults often face their own "Red Sea" moments—times when life seems overwhelming, the path forward is unclear, and fear takes over. Whether it's navigating relationships, career uncertainty, financial struggles, or mental health challenges, the Red Sea can feel like an impossible barrier.
Exodus 14-15 shows us how to trust God during these moments:
1. God is Bigger Than Your "Red Sea"
The Israelites saw the Red Sea as an obstacle, but God saw it as an opportunity to display His power. No challenge in your life is too great for Him. Trust that He can make a way, even when you can't see one.
2. Fear Doesn’t Have the Final Word
The Israelites were paralyzed by fear, but Moses reminded them to stand firm in faith. When fear of failure, rejection, or the unknown threatens to overwhelm you, remember that God’s deliverance is greater than your fear.
3. Trust and Move
God parted the sea, but the Israelites had to step forward in faith. Your breakthrough often comes when you trust God enough to take that next step—whether it’s applying for that job, reaching out for help, or making a bold decision.
4. Celebrate God’s Faithfulness
After crossing the Red Sea, the Israelites praised God for His deliverance. As a young adult, take time to reflect on how God has already brought you through difficult seasons, and let that inspire confidence in Him for the future.
Ask:
Lord, You know the challenges I’m facing—the Red Sea moments where I feel stuck, afraid, or unsure of what to do. Help me to trust in Your power and take steps of faith, knowing that You are making a way for me. Strengthen my heart to face fear with courage and teach me to celebrate Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Walk:
Today, I will identify a "Red Sea" moment I’m currently facing—a challenge that feels overwhelming. I’ll pray for God’s guidance and take one step of faith toward moving forward. I’ll also reflect on a past moment when God brought me through a tough situation and share that testimony with someone who might need encouragement.

Trusting During Process
Date: January 20, 2025
Bible Reading: Exodus 8-10
Inspiration:
“But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt, he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites.” (Exodus 7:3-4)
Learn:
Exodus 8-10 describes God’s persistent power as He sent plagues to demonstrate His sovereignty and fulfill His promise of deliverance. Despite Pharaoh’s hardened heart, God’s plan advanced steadily, teaching us how to trust Him even when the process feels uncertain or prolonged.
Key lessons for young adults struggling in the process:
1. God’s Purpose Stands Firm Despite Resistance
Pharaoh’s repeated refusal to let the Israelites go shows us that resistance—even from powerful forces—cannot derail God’s purpose. Trust that His plan for our lives will not fail, even if it feels delayed.
2. God’s Power is Evident in Every Situation
The plagues were not random events; they revealed God’s authority over creation and His ability to bring justice. Look for evidence of God’s power in our lives, whether through answered prayers, inner strength, or unexpected opportunities.
3. God's Plan Requires Obedience
Moses and Aaron continued to obey God, even when Pharaoh’s heart remained stubborn. God's plan requires obedience, even when results aren’t immediate. Our faithfulness now is part of God’s bigger picture.
Ask:
Father God, thank You for reminding me that nothing can stop Your plan. Help me to trust in Your power and remain faithful, even when I face opposition or feel discouraged during the process. Teach me to rely on Your strength and to look for signs of Your presence in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Walk:
Today, I will reflect on areas of my life where I’ve been discouraged by resistance or delays. I will choose to surrender those situations to God, trusting His timing. I’ll also take one practical step of obedience—whether it’s reaching out to someone in need, working toward a goal, or spending time in prayer.

Feeling Unqualified
Date: January 18, 2025
Bible Reading: Exodus 2-4
Inspiration:
“So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” (Exodus 3:10)
Learn:
Exodus 2-4 recounts the early life of Moses, his calling by God at the burning bush, and his initial hesitation to fulfill God’s mission. Through Moses, we see that God uses imperfect people to accomplish extraordinary purposes. His calling equips us with courage and strength to follow Him, even when we feel inadequate.
From Exodus 2-4, we learn several important truths about God’s call and how He works through us:
1.God Sees, Hears, and Acts
In Exodus 2:24-25, God saw the suffering of His people and remembered His covenant. He hears our cries, sees our struggles, and is faithful to act on our behalf. Trust that He is aware of your needs and working for your good.
2. God Uses Ordinary People for Extraordinary Missions
Moses was reluctant, full of excuses, and felt unqualified. Yet God chose him to deliver His people. Your weaknesses don’t disqualify you from God’s plans—His strength is made perfect in your weakness.
3. God Provides What You Need
When Moses expressed fear and doubt, God assured him of His presence and provided Aaron to assist him. God equips those He calls, supplying wisdom, strength, and help for every task.
Ask:
Heavenly Father, thank You for hearing my prayers and being faithful to act on my behalf. Help me to trust Your call, even when I feel inadequate. Equip me with courage, wisdom, and faith to fulfill Your purpose. Remind me that You are always with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Walk:
Today, I will step forward in faith, trusting that God is with me. Instead of focusing on my limitations, I will rely on His strength and provision. I will seek opportunities to serve and obey, knowing that His plans for me are good and purposeful.
