Earlier today, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist and Office of the Provincial Veterinarian welcomed Señor Santiago. An annual tradition wherein a Holy Mass is celebrated in every office to bless and spiritually uplift every worker.
Fr. Allan Flores officiated the mass with his fervent prayers of mercy, guidance and protection to everyone in the office just like the intentions of Señor Santiago.

Farm equipments particularly grass cutters, coffee pullers, power sprayers were distributed to Various Farmers Associations in the province of Abra held at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.
Aside from farm equipment,
fertilizers, flower inducers, crates and vegetable seeds were also given.
This dispensation were funded by High Value Crop Development Program (HVCDP) Department of Agriculture- CAR coodinated at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist headed by Engr. Christopher Gulloy, OIC Provincial Agricultirist together with Mr.Jayson Ordoñez, HVCDP coordinator.
Recipients were Farmer Associations from municipalities of Bangued, La Paz, Bucay, Boliney, Luba, Lagangilang, Lagayan, Villaviciosa, Licuan-Baay, San Juan and San Quintin.

OPAG joins the Government Outreach Day held at Brgy. Collago, Lagayan on May 30, 2025, lead by Acting Governor Russell Bragas.
We released inorganic fertilizers, Humus (soil conditioner) and variety of vegetable seeds to farmers.

"Strengthening Farmers Through Knowledge and Support 🌾
In a collaborative effort between the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAG-Abra) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), OPAG staff actively participated in and assisted with the presentation of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and vegetable production technologies to the farmer-beneficiaries of the Farmer Business School (FBS) – Villa Banat Agriculture Cooperative on April 29, 2025. As a gesture of support and encouragement, OPAG also distributed gardening kits as starter tools to help our farmers jumpstart their sustainable farming journey. Together, we cultivate resilience, productivity, and growth in Abra’s agriculture sector."

The two-day Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolks and Families (PAFFF) was served smoothly at the Abra Sports Complex last February 26 & 27, 2025.
The pay out was coordinated to the Provincial Government of Abra led by Acting Governor Atty. Russell A. Bragas, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist- Abra headed by the OIC Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Christopher Gulloy, Supervising Agriculturist Silvestre V. Briones, and Abra Agriculture Program Coordinating officer of DA- CAR Dr. Rosemarie Tesoro.
This program aims to aid the distressed farmers, fishelfolks and their families.

The Department of Agriculture- Agricultural Training Institute RTC- CAR and DA-RFO-CAR Regional Extension Support, Education, Training Services (ESETS) conducted a consultation meeting with LGU partners together with OPAG Abra personnel on February 20-21, 2025 at Baguio City.
Said consultation meeting also tackled the online registration of Agriculture Extension Workers (AEWs), planning of budgets, projects and programs to be implemented for the year 2025-2026.
The usual issues, concerns and agreements were generally discussed.
Representing OPAg- Abra were Mr. Silvester Briones, the Supervising Agriculturists for the Rice Program, Jhomar Vivas, Agricultural Technologist I for OA Program, Jocelyn Atmosfera, Agriculturist II, for Corn and Cassava, Jayson Ordoñez Agricultural Technologist for HVCDP/ GAP and food safety, Luzbella Gandeza, Agricultutist II for RBO and/ 4H Program and Joe Jayson Zales, Agricultural Technician II as PAFES Focal person in lieue of Mr.Briones.

Personnel of OPAg Abra joins the Field- Day Site Assessment of System of Rice Intensification (SRI) Farmer Field School (FFS) at Nagtupacan, Lagangilang and Calao, Bucay respectively.

OPAG personnel joined the training seminar on Rain-induced Landslide Susceptibility using the enhanced rain- induced landslide susceptibility guidebook.
Trainees went on field testing and validation particularly at Victoria Park, Bacsil Road and Brgy.Palao, Bangued. The findings is susceptible and highly susceptible respectively.
Said training were attended by LGU MDRRMC members, PGA employees, DOST, Red Cross and various National Agencies.

OPAG Abra led the monday flag raising ceremony of the Provincial Government of Abta where Engr. Christopher Gulloy, the OIC Provincial Agriculturists delivered and updated the public about the present works and accomplishments of the office.

The technical working group of the forthcoming Abrenian Kawayan Festival 2025 convene today at the Abra Provincial Capitol Atrium to finalize the daily activities in order to deliver a smooth sailing 9-day celebration.

OPAG Abra officials, Engr. Christopher Gulloy, OIC Provincial Agriculturist and Mr.Silvestre Briones, the supervising Agriculturists, joins the virtual briefing on Technical Inception for the National Soil Health Program (SRMU-SHMS) for the entire Cordillera Administrative Region.
Said online briefing was conducted by the Department of Agricuture- Bureau of Soil and Water Management (DA-BSWM).
