CSBS Student Government

𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗚 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟭 – 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝟭 𝗚𝗮𝘄𝗮: 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁-𝗮-𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆

Under 𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗚 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟭 – 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝟭, the CSBS Student Government institutionalized the Adopt-a-Classroom Policy as a student government–led, college-wide policy implemented across all classrooms of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Prior to the policy’s rollout, the CSBS Student Government led an initial clean-up of the ground-floor classrooms, setting the standard for accountability and modeling the behavior expected from the CSBS community.

To ensure the policy’s sustainability, cleaning materials—such as brooms and other essential tools—were provided in collaboration with 2nd Year Psychology students, with materials sourced from BAP 2B. This ensured that classrooms were properly equipped to uphold daily cleanliness and order. In the succeeding week, the initiative was further strengthened through the installation of 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘱 trash cans, implemented in collaboration with BAP 2A and BAP 2D, institutionalizing proper waste segregation and environmentally responsible waste management practices within CSBS facilities.

As a student government–led, college-wide initiative, the Adopt-a-Classroom Policy delivers concrete contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by fostering clean, safe, and inclusive learning environments; SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through structured waste segregation and responsible resource use; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by demonstrating the power of coordinated student leadership and inter-section collaboration in achieving sustainable, system-level change. Ultimately, this policy embodies the spirit of LAYAG—where student leadership translates into collective action, institutional responsibility, and long-term sustainability within the CSBS community.

𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗚: 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗴 🌊⛵
A student-led initiative composed of a series of purpose-driven projects, strategically designed across four phases: College, Campus, Community, and Digital Advocacy.

𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗚 𝟭: “𝗚𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝘄𝗮”
A college-based initiative strengthening both student competence and CSBS learning spaces through guided service and collective action.

Stage 1: Gabay – Gabay sa Pagdamay workshops that equip psychology, human services, and social work students with essential helping skills, including Psychological First Aid, group processes, crisis interviewing, and foundational competencies for helping professionals.

Stage 2: Gawa – Improving the CSBS environment through the Adopt-A-Classroom project and CSBS Luntian, an initiative grounded in environmental psychology to foster a more conducive and psychologically responsive learning space.

𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗚 𝟮: “𝗗𝗶𝘄𝗮 𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝗽𝘄𝗮”
A campus-wide mental health initiative led by student advocates trained in Phase 1, addressing the psychosocial concerns of BPSU-BC students.

Stage 3: Diwa – A Mental Health Week roundtable discussion featuring psychologists, educators, HR practitioners, and social workers, offering interdisciplinary perspectives on mental health in psychological, educational, industrial, and public sectors.

Stage 4: Kapwa – Voices from the Margin, an advocacy platform amplifying the stories of survivors and marginalized individuals, fostering empathy and sustained student action against stigma.

𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗚 𝟯: “𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗮𝘄𝗮”
A community-based mental health service initiative in partnership with the PREDA Foundation, supporting children in need of special protection.

Stage 5: Kalinga – Faculty-guided psychosocial support sessions addressing the emotional and developmental needs of children rescued from abusive environments.

Stage 6: Ginhawa – Sustaining care through the LAYAG Donation Drive, providing essential resources for PREDA children and extending aid during calamities affecting BPSU students and Bataan communities.

𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗚 𝟰: “𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮”
A year-long digital advocacy campaign amplifying CSBS identity, history, and mental health awareness beyond physical spaces.

Stage 7: Malaya – Malayang CSBS, a social media campaign raising awareness on the national mental health crisis while taking principled stances on key social and developmental issues.

Stage 8: Mapagpalaya – Kolehiyong Mapagpalaya, celebrating CSBS history, honoring pioneering faculty, and highlighting alumni who continue to champion psychosocial services across various fields.

|| 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 ||

𝐊𝐔𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐇𝐀𝐍: Pagpapatibay ng Ugnayan at Layunin

Isang buong umaga ng makabuluhang pag-uusap at sama-samang pagninilay sa 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Nagsimula ito kasama ang mga 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿𝘀sa pagtalakay ng mga proyekto ng CSBS Student Government para sa susunod na semestre, kabilang ang unang hakbang ng 𝘈𝘥𝘢𝘱𝘵-𝘢-𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮. Sa pamamagitan ng bukas na diskusyon, naihayag ang mga ideya, pananaw, at suhestiyong nagmumula mismo sa karanasan ng bawat klase—mahalagang ambag sa mas maayos na pagpapatupad ng mga susunod na inisyatiba.

Sinundan ito ng pakikipag-ugnayan sa BPSU Psychology Society at Society of Service and Care - Soseca kung saan binalikan ang kanilang mga nagawang gawain at tinalakay ang mga posibilidad para sa mas pinalakas na kolaborasyon sa hinaharap. Isang sesyon na naglatag ng malinaw na direksyon para sa mga programang patuloy na ibibigay sa komunidad.

Sa huling bahagi, kasama ang mga 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝘀, binalikan ang mga aktibidad na sama-samang naisakatuparan, tinalakay ang mga susunod na hakbang, at nagbigay ng munting pagkilala sa bawat komite at boluntaryong naging bahagi ng semestre. Isang paalala na ang tunay na lakas ng organisasyon ay nagmumula sa kolektibong pagtutulungan at pagkilala sa bawat ambag.

🔍 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦: 𝗠𝗴𝗮 𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗼𝗹 𝘀𝗮 𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻.

𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝟭: 𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗼 𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗮𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻.
Ayon sa isang public-health research, ang ugaling pang-aabuso ay nakukuha sa kinalakihan. Halimbawa; ang trauma– maaari niya rin gawin sa ibang tao, ang kung ano man nangyari sa kaniya.

𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝟮: 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗩𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗮-𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗿𝗶 𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗼.
Lahat ay naaapektuhan, ngunit kababaihan at marginalized groups ang laging sumasailalim sa ganitong sitwasyon.

𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝟯: 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗼 𝗮𝘆 𝗸𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝘁𝘂𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗺𝗮𝗮𝘆𝗼𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗼𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻.
Kung ang tao ay may kawalan ng conflict-resolution skills, mauuwi ito sa sigawan at abuso.

𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝟰: 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀– 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻.
Unemployment, financial instability, at housing insecurity– isa sa mga uri ng economic problems na nagdudulot ng stress sa indibidwal.

𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝟱: 𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗴-𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗸𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻.
Dahil sa dulot ng alak, hindi nakokontrol ng indibidwal ang kaniyang mga aksyon.

𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝟲: 𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘀 𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘀, 𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗼 𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝘀.
Sa isang indibidwal, tuwing may nararamdaman na isolation o disconnection sa ibang tao, kawalan ng kontrol o lakas– marahil maging dahilan ng abuso.

𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝟳: 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗸𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 = 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀.
Ang edukasyon ang siyang nagtuturo at nag-aangat ng ating kaalaman laban sa karahasan, idagdag pa kung sino ang ating mga kinakasama–kung nasa mabuti at tama. Tulad ng community support, o stable environments.
