BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Governor Albert Garcia said on Thursday an interlink bridge project that is in the pipeline here will bring about "massive" economic growth for Luzon and the country.

The detailed engineering design of the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge is now at 34 percent and is targeted for completion by the first quarter of 2023,

“Inaasahang magiging mitsa ng napakalaking pagbangong pang-ekonomiya ang Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge hindi lamang sa mga probinsya ng Bataan at Cavite, kung hindi maging sa buong bansa dahil mapagdudugtong nito ang Region 3 at Region 4-A pati na ang National Capital Region (The Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge is expected to spark massive economic recovery not only in the provinces of Bataan and Cavite, but also the entire country because it will connect Region 3 and Region 4-A as well as the National Capital Region),” Garcia said in an interview.

He said the project will give more opportunities for the economy and tourism of the province and likewise promote a high quality of living for every Bataan resident.

The multi-billion-peso bridge that will pass over Manila Bay has a length of about 32.15 kilometers. Its starting point is in Barangay Alas-asin in Mariveles, Bataan and ends in Naic, Cavite.

Garcia said the Department of Public Works and Highways conducted Wednesday its first inter-agency steering committee meeting to give way to suggestions, ideas, issues, and concerns of stakeholders on the building of the bridge. (PNA)
