The real root of the Yanson family squabble is this, the mother, Olivia Villaflores-Yanson, treated the Yanson Group of Bus Companies (YGBC), the biggest bus conglomerate in the Philippines with nearly 5,000 units, as an ordinary conjugal property and wanted to get half of the shares of the bus corporations notwithstanding the Shareholders' Agreement which gave ninety-nine (99) percent of all shares to the six (6) Yanson children.
