Adventure seekers and beach lovers can now experience the beauty of the Higunom Dancing Sandbar as tours officially open for visitors every Friday and Saturday this April 2026.
The scenic sandbar offers a relaxing island escape perfect for quick getaways, swimming, sightseeing, and enjoying the crystal-clear waters. Joinerโs trips are now available weekly for groups of 15โ20 persons, while private tours can also be arranged by sending us a message.

Since the destination is a sandbar, tours typically last only 1โ2 hours depending on tide schedules. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and enjoy the breathtaking coastal views during the limited tour window.

Starting April 14, 2025, the wives of our fisherfolks opens their Guso Chips Center to locals and visitors who are eager to learn how guso, a locally sourced seaweed, is transformed into nutritious and flavorful chips.
The initiative aims to highlight the townโs marine resources while promoting sustainable food practices and community livelihood.
Guests can enjoy tours that show them each stage of productionโfrom cleaning the seaweed to seasoning and packaging the final product. Organizers say the experience is designed to be both educational and interactive.
The center will be open starting April 14, 2026
10:00 AM to 4:00 PM,
Mondays - Saturdays.
Entrance fee - โฑ15 will be charged to
help maintain the facility and support the association
With this initiative, Arteche continues to showcase its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community-driven enterprise.

Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Director Karen Tiopes visited the municipality of Arteche to conduct a site inspection of the ongoing Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA)-funded boardwalk project at the Arteche Mangrove Forest.
The visit underscores the governmentโs continued commitment to strengthening sustainable tourism infrastructure while preserving the townโs rich natural resources.
Joining the inspection was Provincial Tourism Officer Neil Pinarok,also present during the visit were Vice Mayor Bowad Evardone and Municipal Tourism Officer Sarah Afable, who accompanied the delegation and provided updates on the projectโs progress and local tourism initiatives.
During the visit, the RD Karen also committed to providing additional support to the municipality through capacity-building initiatives, including tour guiding training for local guides.
