Saddest story I heard today.

Tatay is a taxi driver here in Baguio. He spent 40 years on the road. Driving carefully. Never got into an accident. Not even once. He raised his family through honest work. Driving day and night. Rain or shine.

He just retired. He was finally resting. Finally living. His kids told him he didn’t need to work anymore. They’d take care of him now.

But today, he died.

A 22-year-old driver. Just came from a despedida party. Hungover. Sleepy. Fell asleep behind the wheel. Crashed into the old man.
