Since 2001, the world has celebrated World Science Day for Peace and Development every November 10, led by UNESCO. This year’s theme, “Trust, Transformation, and Tomorrow: The Science We Need for 2050,” highlights the importance of trust in scientific knowledge, the power of transformation through innovation, and our shared responsibility to build a better future.

World Science Day for Peace and Development serves as a reminder to all for a better future. According to the Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 13 published 08:00 AM today, PAGASA projected the eye of Typhoon Tino to go “over the coastal waters of Barbaza, Antique (11.2 °N, 121.7 °E)” by 05:00 PM today, November 4.

Previously, in Bulletin 12 issued at 05:00 AM, the eye of the typhoon is forecasted to pass by the coastal areas of Patnongon at 02:00 PM today, while the much earlier Bulletin 8 predicted the eye to pass over San Jose de Buenavista (02:00 PM, November 4).

Tino continues to move west northwestward towards Panay at about 25 km/h with sustained winds at 150 km/h and gusts of up to 205 km/h.

In line with the shift, PAGASA issued Storm Surge Warning No. 8, of more than three meters (3m) over several low-lying coastal areas of Panay (Antique, Aklan, Capiz, and Iloilo).

Ang Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) isa ka plain text warning sa partikular nga lugar nga mahimo maka-eksperyensya sang makusog nga hangin nga nasandig sa Beaufort Scale (i.e., 39 km/h, 22 kt or higher) sa sulod sang indi magnubo sa 36 oras gikan sa tion sang ginpapanaog ang signal warning sa paglabay sang bagyo.

𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍: Base on the 5:00 AM tropical cyclone bulletin of PAGASA, the province of Antique particularly the southern portion (Valderrama, Patnongon, San Remigio, Sibalom, Belison, San Jose, Hamtic, Tobias Fornier, Anini-Y) is now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4.

Signal No. 4 means typhoon-force winds at 118 km/h up to 184 km/h, with significant to severe impacts expected from within any areas under this category.

According to all available data including those from Masbate and Mactan Doppler Weather Radars, the center of the eye of Typhoon TINO was estimated to be over the coastal waters of San Francisco, Cebu (10.8°N, 124.3°E).

As Typhoon Tino sets to landfall in Panay, it has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 205 km/h, and central pressure of 960 hPa.
