Mahalagang tandaan:

✅ Ang RCBO ay proteksyon laban sa overload, short circuit, at leakage current.

❌ Pero HINDI nito napapalitan ang grounding system.

Kapag may fault sa charger, outlet, wiring, o sasakyan:

⚠️ BAKIT HINDI DAPAT GAMITIN ANG ORDINARY AC BREAKER SA SOLAR DC CIRCUITS?

Sa pagsusuri sa larawan, makikita ang dalawang Schneider Electric Acti9 iC60N (parehong 2-Pole, 20 Amp, C-curve) na itinutro ng kamat at sa ibang larawan nmn ay nasunog ito. Bagamat ang paggamit ng mga ito bilang 2-Pole assembly ay nagpapataas ng kanilang maximum multi-standard DC rating hanggang 150V DC max (72V DC kung 1-Pole) , tandaan na ang mga ito ay pangunahing dinisenyo para sa AC networks.

Marami pa rin gumagamit ng typical household o industrial AC MCB para sa:
🔸Solar Panel → SCC/Inverter
🔸 SCC → Battery
🔸Battery → Inverter

Mukhang “gumagana”… pero DELIKADO. ❌
🔥

Ang AC at DC circuit breakers ay magkaibang-magkaiba ang internal design — lalo na sa ARC CHUTE.

⚡ ARC CHUTE DIFFERENCES

Ang arc chute ang critical cooling chamber kung saan pinapatay ang electrical arc kapag nagti-trip ang breaker.

✅ AC Arc Chutes (De-ion Grids)Gumagamit ito ng metal splitter plates para hati-hatiin ang arc. Sa AC systems, natural na bumababa sa ZERO ang current 100 or 120 times per second (50Hz/60Hz), kaya kusa ring namamatay ang arc during zero-crossing. Ang trabaho na lang ng AC breaker ay pigilan ang arc na bumalik.

❌ DC Arc Chutes (Magnetic Blowouts)Sa DC, tuloy-tuloy ang current. Walang zero-crossing. Kaya ang tunay na DC breakers ay may:✔️ permanent magnets✔️ magnetic blowout coilsIto ang nagtutulak at nagpapahaba ng arc papunta sa mas malalim na arc chute para tuluyang mapatay.

🔥 BAKIT PUMAPALPAK ANG AC BREAKER SA DC?

❌ No Natural ExtinctionWalang natural zero-crossing ang DC, kaya hindi maputol ng AC breaker ang arc.

❌ Arc StagnationAng DC arc naiipit lang sa contacts at nanginginig/vibrate imbes na mapunta sa splitter plates.

❌ Thermal DestructionAng tuloy-tuloy na init ng DC arc ay puwedeng:
🔥 tunawin ang breaker casing
🔥 mag-weld ang contacts
🔥 magsimula ng sunog

Hindi porket “nagagamit” ay “safe” na. Sa solar PV systems, dapat tama ang:

✔️ voltage/current ratings
