Via ADB - The MRT4 project will be a fully elevated railway mass-transit system to serve the eastern side of Metro Manila including the highly populated areas of the province of Rizal. As a high-capacity urban public-transport system, the MRT4 will address the current transport bottleneck along the Ortigas avenue, will be approximately 13.4 km long, with 10 stations, and barrier-free design to allow inclusive access.

The project will provide a reliable, rapid, affordable, and safe public transport; will reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions; will reduce traffic congestions and commute/travel times from Taytay to the Ortigas central business district (CBD) from currently 1-3 hours by road to less than half an hour by rail. It will ensure maintain the high economic growth and inclusive urban development of eastern Manila, the Ortigas CDB, Pasig city and the neighboring Rizal province.
